Please join your UNC Charlotte colleagues at the Active Learning Academy Spring 2018 Expo to find out how Active Learning is being used on campus to increase student engagement, collaboration, and success.
What is Active Learning? Active learning involves providing opportunities for students to meaningfully talk and listen, write, read, and reflect on the content, ideas, issues, and concerns of an academic subject (Meyers & Jones, 1993). Active learning is any (teaching) strategy that involves students in doing things and thinking about the things they are doing (Bonwell & Eison, 1991). On higher education campuses today, there are a multitude of technologies and methodologies that can be be used in any classroom, large or small, to engage students in active learning. Join us at the Active Learning Academy Expo to experience and learn about the successes of your colleagues.
At the end of this event, attendees will:
Expo Schedule
1:00 - 1:05 pm - Opening Remarks/Honoring the Loss of Camina Davis
1:05 - 3:00 pm - Eight rounds of 10 minutes to visit the booths of our eight Active Learning Academy Teams and engage with their presentations, experiences, and content.
