Teaching with Learning Technologies

This pathway guides faculty in the use of innovative teaching practices and technologies (broadly defined) to enhance student learning.


Workshops at this level help faculty explore a variety of tools and strategies which provide a technical foundation to enhance teaching. Focal areas include engaging students with Canvas, visualizing student feedback, using web conferencing tools in synchronous and asynchronous instruction, saving instructor’s time with teaching technologies, and the basics of course accessibility.

Approximate time commitment: 20 Hours


Workshops at this level immerse faculty in tools and techniques for improving technology supported teaching. Focal areas include learning to use video in teaching, using learning analytics to improve student performance, developing a Teaching Enhancement Plan, and designing a scholarly teaching project.

Approximate time commitment: 34 hours


Workshops at this level develop leadership in technology supported teaching topics and provide opportunities for faculty to expand and share their expertise through a variety of collaborative projects in partnership with the CTL. Focal areas include scholarly teaching work, serving as a Teacher’s Observing Peers exemplar, designing and leading training, and mentoring other faculty.
