Guest Lectures

One benefit of online classes is that guest lecturers don’t have to travel physically to a location, which can make it easier to bring them “into” your classroom.

Here are some ideas for how to implement guest lectures in your classes:

  • Schedule a synchronous session where the guest presents and students attend the session to listen and ask questions.
  • Have the guest lecture record a presentation and provide it to students.
  • Run a synchronous Q&A type session between you and the guest and provide the recording to students.
  • Invite the guest to a discussion in Canvas and allow students to ask them questions.
