What To Know About Switching Between the Legacy Toolbar and New Toolbar
Do I need to switch to the new toolbar?
Currently, you can switch between the new toolbar and the legacy toolbar to test out the new version.
I switched to the new toolbar and don’t like it. Can I go back to the legacy version?
Currently, you can switch between the new toolbar and the legacy toolbar. However, the legacy version will be sunsetted on December 31, 2024.
When do I have to switch to the new toolbar?
On December 31, 2024, Cidilabs will sunset the legacy toolbar, and the new toolbar will become the default option.
What happens to my content if I switch to the new toolbar?
Any content in your course that uses DesignPlus formatting will remain unaffected by the toolbar upgrade. If you want to use the new toolbar to edit your existing DesignPlus Canvas pages, you will need to follow the “upgrade” instructions for each page. This is an automated process and very fast. It has no affect on your content; all of the changes happen in the code behind the scenes.
What happens to my content if I don’t upgrade the pages?
Existing legacy content will still function normally and retain its styling. If you haven’t yet upgraded the pages to the new toolbar by the sunset date of the legacy toolbar, you will have to upgrade the pages before editing them at that time.
Can I bulk upgrade pages or the whole course at once?
No, the upgrade tool only works one page at a time. Since legacy content will still render properly, you only need to upgrade pages that you intend to edit with the new Sidebar and leave the rest alone.
Can I have both legacy and new content at the same time?
Yes, both old and new content can exist simultaneously in the same course.
