The Center for Teaching and Learning is excited to announce that the 5th Annual AI Summit for Smarter Learning will be held on May 12, 2027, at the Dubois Center.
This is a free, full-day event, open to all UNC Charlotte faculty and academic staff.

ICYMI: The 2026 AI Summit
Over 200 UNC Charlotte faculty, staff, students, administrators, industry partners, and attendees from surrounding educational institutions convened at the Dubois Center for the 4th Annual Charlotte AI Summit for Smarter Learning.
Key insights from featured sessions included:
- Authentic Assessment at Scale with Adobe Express and Firefly AI
- How to reimagine meaningful social connection in the classroom using AI and partner with students to co-create classroom policies
- What thriving in the age of AI means in education and in the workforce
- How industry partners are leveraging AI in the workforce
- Student perspectives on navigating AI in Higher Education and beyond
The summit introduced the AI Faculty Use Case Stories Collection, a digital repository with an associated print companion of over 80 faculty stories and examples of AI use in the classroom.
The summit also welcomed a new format, the Exploration Zone, where sponsors and faculty presented interactive booths for AI Discovery, Digital Innovation, and Collaborative Play.
