Accessing On-Campus Resources from Home

If you must work from home due to the University closing for an extended period of time, make sure you have access to on-campus resources from home. These include:

  • Voice Mail
  • Email
  • Accessing Files and Resources from Off-Campus
  • Library Resources

Accessing Voice Mail

Communication is extremely important in these circumstances. Students and others might leave voice mail messages on your office phone.

To check and play your messages from off-campus:

  1. Dial 704‑687‑5000.
  2. When the automated voice starts to talk, press the * key.
  3. Enter your ID number (your 5-digit phone/mailbox extension) then press the # key.
  4. Enter your pin, then press the # key.

You might want to change your greeting. Follow these steps to change your Primary personal greeting:

  1. Dial 704‑687‑5000.
  2. When the automated voice starts to talk, press the * key.
  3. Enter your ID number (your 5-digit phone/mailbox extension) then press the # key.
  4. Enter your pin, then press the # key.
  5. Choose Setup Options (option 4).
  6. Select Change Greetings (option 1)

Accessing Email

You can access your UNC Charlotte GMail from an Internet-connected computer by going to gmail.uncc.edu.
To login to GMail:

  1. Open your Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
